Living as christians in a Godly manner. That is my hope for not only myself but for my marriage with Kayleigh. I feel God has called me to write these ''mini-sermons". I am not a preacher, just a simple man delivering the Word of God to people in a way that God has led me.
The first passage I'd like to explore is in Titus 3:1-11.
Titus says: "1 Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed, 2 to malign no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing every consideration for all men. 3 For we also once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. 4 But when the kindness of our God and Savior and His love for mankind appeared, 5 He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, 6 Whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. 8 This is a trustworthy statement; and concerning these things I want you to speak confidently, so that those who have believed God will be careful to engage in good deeds. These things are good and profitable for men. 9 But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and strife and disputes about the Law, for they are unprofitable and worthless. 10 Reject a factious man after a first and second warning, 11 knowing that such a man is perverted and is sinning, beign self-condemned."
We as Christians are to be obedient to God first and foremost. Yet, God has put in place the governments we have today, so we are to obedient to them as well. We are not supposed to be rude, and malicous to people. More so to be considerate and attenative to their needs, and conversations. We do have to be careful though of allowing ourselves to be involved in conversations or "joke sessions" that are filthy, lude and immoral. The whole reason we are able to walk as Christians is the grace and mercy that God has poured onto us, washing us clean of the sins we have commited and are yet to commit. Yes, I did say yet to commit. Just because God wiped away the sins of our past, doesn't mean that we will sin no more. We are humans, and in our nature there is the filth of sin that continues to try to eat away at our walk or relationship with Christ. We cannot not be afraid of speaking to others the truth of our God, and the relationship we have with Him. We are to stand our ground and not give unclear answers of who the True Savior of the world is. That answer is Jesus Christ, and only Jesus. No other God, deiety, or religion can claim that Jesus is the Savior of all. Some religions try to come close to Christianity and sound believable. But Hinduism, Islam, Mormonism, none of these come close to the Truth of God's Word.
So Brothers and Sisters in Christ, I implore you to live Godly. Do not allow yourselves to be caught up in the world's ways. Present the Word of God to people who have not heard it, and even to those who are "christians" they can be deceived if not full shown the Truth. In the 2nd and final part of the Godly living in an ungodly society, I will cover the passage of Ephesians 4:17-32. Which dicusses more about the Christian Walk. Until next time, may God Bless always!
